Along with the start of a new year comes new year’s resolutions, including one increasingly popular one;  Veganuary!

Did you know that the Vegan trend quadrupled in the 5 years between 2012 and 2017, according to Google search, and it shows no sign of stopping.

So what is Veganuary?

Veganuary simply involves eating a plant based diet and saying no to all animal and animal by-products such as dairy (yes, that includes milk chocolate too!) for the whole month of January.  Therefore, if you’re trying out the Veganuary diet, you may want to consider vegan formulation ingredients too.

The products that we choose to put on our skin are absorbed through the various layers of our largest organ.  They can also end up in our bloodstreams. So it’s not just about what you put in your body, but what you put on it too.

So, this Veganuary why not try our vegan friendly products that promote an overall good sense of well-being?

It’s all about educating ourselves in the detail of every product we utilise…

The more you learn; the more you earn!

With ever changing personal care regulations, it is so important that the quality and manufacturing methods of the products you buy from us are crystal clear, including those of vegan status. Throughout our website technical zone, you can explore the different manufacturing techniques and definitions of what some of our oily jargon actually means. It’s at your fingertips 24/7.

What are your favourite Vegan natural products?

Here are a few of our favourites:

  • Coconut Oil, Fractionated: a very stable Oil and robust in your formulations. No/little aroma & water like features so does not affect your formulation aroma or colour.   Widely used as a Refined Coconut Oil alternative due to its easy to use liquid format. A really gorgeous vegan addition to your formulation.
  • Rapeseed Oil (Canola Oil), Refined: a high grade Refined Rapeseed Oil from this oil enriched seed.  This oil has successfully made a transition from the food/ nutritional industry to that of the cosmetic and this is for good reason. The oil is rich in essential fatty acids & antioxidants such as tocopherols (vitamin E) which always naturally helps in maintaining the stability of the oil.  The refined version offers you the benefits of Rapeseed Oil but without the aroma.  There are no limits as to what you can use this oil in, body/face/feet, there is not an area of the body this ingredient will not suit.
  • Olive Extra Virgin Oil, Cold Pressed Organic: despite its wealthy fatty acid profile, Olive oil contains three major antioxidants; vitamin E, polyphenols, and phytosterols, all of which aid in maintaining skin & hair strength & smoothness.  Further to this it contains a compound called Hydroxytyrosol, which helps prevent free radical damage to the skin.  This particular grade is unrefined (virgin) and food grade. Very simple to use, a dark green olive colour with a spicy, olive aroma.  A perfect vegan choice.
