Investing In Hair care Oils 101

Gone are the days when people merely washed their hair and left all haircare details to hairdressers. Nowadays, people understand that their hair is their crown, and as such, it requires the best hair care regimen. Consumers are increasingly investing in healthy cleansing, hydrating, and growth products. It’s no longer about having beautiful hair; it’s about beauty and health.

Organic shampoo, conditioner, and natural oils are in high demand, and with good reason. Consumers are conscious about the products they use on their hair and scalp.

Ingredients such as alcohol, sulfur, and parabens are now on the taboo list. Also, customers are investing in products they can use at home because of the coronavirus lockdown until visiting the hairdresser is possible.  With this in mind, what can the modern hair products retailer promise a consumer? What type of products should you invest in to promote healthy hair and ensure a healthy revenue stream from your hair care product line?

Shampoo

Creating the right shampoo for your customers can be daunting, especially when considering the speculation around ingredients. Fortunately, you can launch a healthy shampoo line by investing in a natural shampoo bar base.

There are several benefits to investing in a natural shampoo line. First, your consumers know what they are putting in their hair. You can never go wrong with the correct ingredients because consumers actively read labels and select products based on the contents. It’s not just about having a famous brand but having a brand that invests in its consumers’ health.

Our shampoo base is made of a pure vegetable base. The soothing aloe vera and glycerine provide cleansing without damaging the hair. What’s more, the shampoo base does not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS). SLS is a common sulfur-based ingredient in cleaning formulas, including shampoos. The product is added to increase lather in shampoo. However, it irritates, making it unsuitable for scalps.

Moreover, the source and production of SLS are not safe for the environment. Most SLS are petroleum-based, and, thus, their production releases harmful by-products into the environment. What’s more, when SLS are flushed down the drain, they end up in the ocean and pose a danger to aquatic life.

Thanks to the quality ingredients, our shampoo base preserves the natural oils in the scalp and hair. Conventional products remove dirt but strip the natural oils, leaving the hair feeling dry and brittle. A dry scalp is prone to irritation and itchiness, not to mention that it takes more effort to restore the hair to good health.

In addition, our shampoo base is fragrance-free. This allows you to add any fragrance of your choosing with essential oils and diversify the product without altering the core ingredients. Furthermore, our shampoo base is easy to mold and slice. You can shape your shampoo bar as you wish and incorporate your brand label into each bar. Remember, beauty matters because it entices and excites the consumer as soon as they unwrap the packaging.

Conditioner

Conditioning hair is usually the second or third step in the hair wash process. Hair conditioner is also used as part of a daily hair care routine. Conditioner moisturizes the hair, balances its moisture and oil content, and makes it easier to comb and style hair. It’s great for thickening hair, fixing split ends, and reducing freeze. Adding a conditioner to your hair care line is an excellent way to promote restorative health care.

Different hair types need different types of conditioners. If you’d like to cater to a broad customer base, it’s best to juggle with different formulas. For instance, a customer with oily and greasy hair needs conditioners that reduce oil. Such clients need volumizing, strengthening, and balancing conditioners with plenty of protein and less oil.

However, a consumer with dry, brittle, and damaged hair needs moisture and oil-packed conditioners. These are conditioners that are mostly described as moisturizing, hydrating, and smoothing. Deep conditioners are also great for customers with damaged hair because they’re rich in proteins. Lastly, co-washes are conditioners that help users skip shampoo washes to retain the moisture and oil balance in hair.

There are several ingredients to include in your conditioners, such as natural oil, shea butter, proteins, emollients (good fatty alcohols), cationic surfactants, and humectants (hyaluronic acid, panthenol, and propylene glycol). Always avoid parabens, sulfates, triclosan, and Polyethylene glycol (PEG).

O&3 has an organic conditioner base that contains shea butter, jojoba, sunflower, olive, and coconut oils to nourish hair. What’s more, the base is fragrance-free, which means you can add a fragrance of your choice for great smelling hair.

Oils

Nourishing the hair with oil is another crucial part of growing healthy hair. Applying oil to the scalp and hair shaft has several benefits including, promoting growth, sealing in moisture, and providing shine. Oils also lubricate the hair shaft to reduce frizz and enhance style. Hot oil treatments are also excellent pre-poo treatments to increase nutrient penetration and minimize breakage.

There are different types of oils, each providing various benefits to the consumer. Cedarwood, rosemary, and tea tree oil are excellent for dandruff. People with high porosity hair need heavy oils such as coconut oil and castor oils because they seal in moisture. On the other hand, light oils such as argan, sweet almond, and jojoba are better on low porosity hair.
